~Vedant's POV~

I was talking to mom when someone knocked at the door. I opened it without disconnecting the call. Just as I opened the door, that someone hugged me and ran away within two seconds. I stood there with lack of words when Myra came and waved her hands in front of me. I got my senses back and realized mom was calling my name from the phone. I answered her trying to form sentences and disconnected the call. "Someone just got a heart attack it seems." Myra said in a sarcastic tone flipping her hairs and left. I managed to walk to the bed and fell on it on my chest and dug my head into the pillow. Did she just hug me? God my heart will come out of my body. Stop beating this fast.

~Author's POV~

Flashback begins

Everyone seated around the bonfire in a circular pattern. Myra, Anya, Shreya and Shrida sat together while Soumik, Rounit and Maheer sat on the other side. "Here take this." Maheer said passing a glass bottle to Soumik. "Where did this come from?" "Oh that I just emptied it. It was amazing." He said wiping his mouth. All of them gave him a look and then started with the game of truth and dare.

First turn was Maheer's and he chose truth and when Shrida asked "Do you like someone? Like like wala like?" he replied in a simple NO. The game continued and it was Anya's turn to answer and Soumik had to ask. Once again truth was chosen and lie was spoken.

The game continued with everyone choosing truth when Anya spoke "Yaar this is very boring. Nobody is choosing dare. Maza nahi aaya" at which Shrida spoke something in Myra's ears while Shreya just looked at them without being able to hear their voices. Then Myra turned towards Shreya and said "Okay so now without rolling the bottle, we will give dares to each one of us and we are starting with Shreya."

"What!!! No that's cheating. Roll the bottle and decide."

"Sochle it's bride-to-be's wish." Myra raised her eyebrows passing a glare.

"Yaar yeh sahi hai dulhan hai toh baat maano." She finally said surrendering at which Shrida gave a victory laugh. Myra told her the task and her eyes widened. "No no no no look I agree on doing any dare but not this."
(Man this is nice. She is the bride so we have to obey her.)

"Okay then if not hug then kiss. Now okay?"

"Are you mad or what? I am not doing any of this."

~Shreya's POV~

I started walking away from the backyard when Myra came in my way and blackmailed me about something. Do I even need to tell what she blackmailed me about? Best friends are like this only. First they will keep your secret and then threaten you to reveal them if you do not follow their orders. At this moment I wanted to hit her with a chair kept there but yeah not possible. Remain inside intrusive thought. Urrghhhh!!!

Then I thought for a while and agreed. I went in front of the room where Vedant was and stood there for exact five minutes looking at my watch. As I turned to return, I saw Myra standing behind me. "I knew it. I freaking knew it dude. You use your brain a little too much. But you can't escape like this, Knock" She said ordering me. Ek murder allowed hota toh iska kar deti abhi isi waqt
(I would have killed her right away if one murder was allowed)

I knocked on the door. After some twenty seconds, the door opened. I closed my eyes as I already knew it will be only him opening the door. I hugged him and came out of there with the speed of wind while Myra stayed there. Huh done. But much was being done to me now. My hands shivered, stomach crumbled and voice got stuck in the throat. Ignoring all this, I went to my room and dug my face into the pillow lying on the bed.

~Author's POV~

The next morning everyone got up late than usual as there was no function today. Still they had to prepare for the sangeet to be held in two days so Shrida wanted everyone to gather in the basement by 10 am. Shreya with all other girls reached their ten minutes earlier and saw that Shrida was talking with someone. It was the dance choreographer she hired for the sangeet function.

"So what say? Group or duo?"

"Group"

"Duo"

"Both"

Shreya, Myra and Shrida said respectively.

"Okay then final we will be doing both." Aisha, the dance choreographer said.

She asked them to wait for a while until her team arrives with the necessary items. Everyone started doing some or the other work. Shrida was talking to her cousins. Myra and Anya were discussing about their favorite romantic novels while Shreya was reading a thriller fiction at a corner. The guys had still not arrived.

"Surprise" Maheer spoke in a loud voice while he and other boys entered the basement.
"Yeah surprise we the latecomers have arrived." Myra said mimicking his tone. Everyone laughed at this.

~Vedant's POV~

As I entered the basement, I saw the duo again pulling each other's legs. While I greeted everyone, my eyes were searching for her. After looking everywhere, my eyes finally found her sitting at a corner, not just found, my eyes met her eyes who were already looking at me. But when she noticed me reciprocating her gaze, she immediately covered her face with the book she might be reading a while ago. "As Good As Dead" I read the title. I smiled at her reaction and walked towards her. Seeing me coming towards her she got up and was about to walk off when I stopped her.

~Shreya's POV~

"What happened?" He said holding my hand and I stopped at my place, not being able to move even an inch.
"Not-nothing. What happened?"
"Exactly. What happened to you?" He said turning me towards him.
"I told you it's nothing. Actually the book is finished so I was going to keep it back in the room." I lied.

"Oh so tell me what happened at the end?"
"Huh?"

"Yeah you said you read it completely na? Then tell me the climax." He folded his hands and leaned at the wall. I don't know what to focus on - him or his question. Oh wait but I just started the book. I didn't even read the summary. What to answer now? Ummm maybe just make up a story. I don't think he would be reading these novels and all.

"Oh well the main character killed the villain in the climax." I said confidently.

"Well that's not how you tell someone a climax." But how can I tell properly when I haven't even read half of this. "But I have. So just stop lying now." And now I just wanted to dig 10 feet down the ground and hide myself in it because I said it loud instead of thinking. Shreyaaa yaar!!!!

"So now you are telling me the real reason or?" He started walking towards me. "Or?" I took backward steps simultaneously. "Well I would like to do it than tell in words." He replied with a smirk on his face. "Wh-what? Wait okay, everyone's here. Just stop." I said without thinking twice. My nervousness can make me do anything actually. I cupped my mouth with one hand realizing my words.

He stopped. 'What? What did you think I was going to do that could not be done in front of everyone?" He said with a confusing look. But I knew he was just acting innocent and definitely loving this. "Whatever you thought just dump it." I replied gathering confidence and walked off. As I reached near everyone, my heartbeat got normal again. I don't know what happened to him all of a sudden. And me, just adding petrol to the fire. Wow. Great. Awesome. Idiot.

By this time, the choreographer had reached and started with her job. She suggested that half of us can do the group dance while others can go for the dual one. I agreed for the group dance as I knew I won't be comfortable performing with anyone as a duo. But after a long ifs and buts session, she finally told all the cousins to perform in group while we will be paired to dance. I wanted to interrupt her to change the decision but Myra didn't let me do. Seems like she is very excited for this. We were free till evening as only group dance rehearsals will go on till then. I was tired of holding the book and wasn't even getting time to read it so I went to keep it back.

I was going back to the basement while looking at some messages on my phone when I was grabbed by my elbow and..................
