~Shreya's POV~

I was going back to the basement while looking at some messages on my phone when I was grabbed by my elbow and pinned to the pillar.

I opened my eyes which were closed due to the sudden jerk but found nobody was there. Strange. I thought it's Ve-

Well, it's better if it's not him. But wait, this isn't a dream definitely. Someone actually grabbed me and pushed me as my back hit the pillar. So, where's the person now? Fear grabbed me and I gulped replaying the situation again and again in my mind when someone whispered in my ears from behind.

"Mujhe dhund rahi thi?"
(Were you looking for me?)

~Vedant's POV~

She turned back hearing my words and as I saw her I was immediately trapped by guilt. She got so scared by my action. Her eyes were filled with tears and she didn't speak anything. The very next moment tears rolled down her eyes.

"Hey hey sorry. It was just a prank. I am not going to do anything, Okay." I said cupping her face with my palms. She sobbed and eventually stopped crying. She pushed me backwards, my hands fell down and she just walked off without uttering a word. Okay I really messed up and hurt her.

The whole day her weeping face kept flashing in front of my eyes and every time more and more guilt was added to my baggage. First I made her uncomfortable and on top of that scared her from behind. Had it been anyone else making her cry, I would have killed the person by now.

I had to apologize to her but she didn't come out of her room even for once. To distract myself, I tried doing some office work but could not focus. At last, I went to her room and knocked. She opened the door and was about to close it on my face when I pushed the door, entered the room and locked the door from inside. I had to talk to her and her ignorance was just making the matter worse.

"What? Why did you close the door? Ved-"

I covered her mouth with my palm and she was pinned to the door. "Look, I know as a girl you must have felt so scared at that time and I accept I was wrong. But even after apologizing you were just extending the issue. So I had to do all this, Please stop overthinking. I am not someone who will force himself upon you. I just pulled a prank. You made me go breathless yesterday, so I was taking revenge but did not think that it could get this worse. Once again I am really very sorry for every drop of tear that rolled down your eyes, for each moment of anxiety you felt, for scaring you from behind and grabbing you by your elbow without your concern. And yeah for what I had to do now as well." I said in one go and removed my hand; then opened the door and left as I didn't have any words left to explain myself.

~Author's POV~

After one hour, the choreographer called everyone for duet dance practice. Vedant and Shreya did not want to perform but they were forced by Maheer and Myra so they could not deny. The choreographer paired them as – Maheer and Myra, Soumik and Anya, Rounit and Neha and Vedant and Shreya. "Wait I would not dance with him." Myra and Anya said together. "Look you have to, otherwise my choreo will get ruined. You guys don't have much time. Please cooperate." Aisha said and they finally agreed.

~Shreya's POV~

We stood beside each other to start practice, I really like dancing but this is my first time performing in pair. I was really nervous as to who I would get paired with but as I came to know about the pairs, I felt relieved. Yeah some time ago he apologized for making me feel uncomfortable but he only gave me warmth and comfort whenever I was near him.

I cried because I was scared thinking it was someone else and not him. And as I was thinking all this, the whisper from behind ran down shivers through my body because due to fear, I could not even recognize his voice. Had I known it was him, my heart would have come into my mouth beating at a high rate and my face would have become a canvas painted in red. But I messed it up by crying and got embarrassed. He thought I was angry at him so he recited a speech of apology and didn't even wait for my reaction. Shrey your earlier reaction hurt him, girl. Your turn to apologize, now.

We began the practice. He was dancing with me but he was not here. I could clearly see detachment and guilt in his eyes. He tried to avoid his touch on me as much as he could. But soon, this started ruining the choreo.

"Vedant" I whispered while dancing. He hummed and I continued "Vedant listen I am not feeling even an inch of discomfort. We can dance properly. Okay"
"But we are dancing. Aren't we?" He replied looking anywhere but me.

"Like this? Is this even a duet? We can definitely do better than this. Look I am so sorry for my reaction. I didn't cry because of discomfort. In fact, I cried because I thought someone else touched me. I wanted it to be you only. I swear." I said turning his face towards me and making our eyes meet.
"Pakka?" He finally smiled.
"Pakka wala pakka" I replied reciprocating the smile.

"Guys mai bol raha hu inka dance nahi romance chal raha hai" Maheer said and we immediately drifted apart shocking at his statement, "What!!! Kuch bhi?" we said together. "Aankhein hain button nahi" Myra replied. I looked at Vedant and his cheeks were red. Damn, guys blush too? Focus Shrey focus.
(Guys I am telling, there romance is going on instead of dance.)
(What!!! Anything?)
(We have eyes, not buttons.)

They laughed looking at us and after enough embarrassment; we came out of the basement, sighed and after being silent for good thirty seconds, we started laughing wholeheartedly.

~Vedant's POV~

I stopped laughing and looked at her who was still laughing. No one has ever looked this attractive while laughing their heart out. Her words were still running over my mind.
"I cried because I thought someone else touched me."
"I wanted it to be you. I swear"
"I am not feeling even an inch of discomfort."
Only I know how much her words comforted ME. I was extremely guilt-ridden by the fact of troubling her, not only physically but mentally. But now all those negative thoughts had gone.

I went near her and pulled her holding her wrist. She was now standing very close to me, closer than we did while practicing because my mind was not allowing me to go near her in the fear of making her cry again. "Wh-what happened?" She uttered while looking down and I could see her blushing.

"Actually amidst all this drama, I forgot about my revenge. I am a true businessman. I have to pay back your favor, right?" I whispered to her as she was standing very close and could hear it. "And now that you confessed that you like me being around you. So......" I leaned towards her. She instantly looked up in amusement as if she didn't know what I was saying.
"Wait I didn't mean this." She again said while blushing. "Whatever you meant Ms. Blushful but I have got my meaning so just shut up now and let me close the deal." I said leaning closer.

She closed her eyes tightly and turned her face to the other side. I smiled at her reaction and knew what she was thinking. Then I hugged her gently and moved apart. She stood there freezed for few seconds and then opened her eyes and gave me a confusing look.

"What?" I exclaimed. "You were expecting something else. Should I?" I asked taking a step towards her. "No no no no it's fine. Bye" She uttered and ran away. This girl is going to kill me someday I tell you. Haaayeee!!!
