~Author's POV~

The next morning Shreya got up earlier than her usual timing as she wanted to check on Vedant. She wasn't able to sleep properly after the dream and her restless heart had no patient left. She knew he is a morning person and must be awake by now so she went into the backyard and found him sitting there with his laptop and continuously tapping his fingers on the keyboard. She felt relieved to see him all well and normal.

~Shreya's POV~

I went to him and sat beside him but he was still engrossed in his work and didn't react. "Vedant" "Yeah" He said still looking at the laptop's screen, "You are okay na?" "Yeah I am absolutely fine. Why?" He said running his fingers on the keyboard.

"Why? What's the point of asking this? Huh? I was worried okay." I expressed my concern and he finally turned towards me. "You told me to not overthink, right? Now you are doing it. Forget it, okay. Whatever was the issue, it's resolved. No more problems."

"But I got scared." I said with teary eyes looking down. He took my face in his palms making me look at him. His gentle grip comforted me. I am sure he is feeling much better too otherwise he won't be reacting like this. "I am sorry I overreacted and even shouted at you. Whatever punishment you want to give me. It will be fine. But please do not feel that I intended to hurt you. It happened unwillingly I swear." I wasn't hurt either. Instead I felt bad for him.
"No need of apologizing. Just take care of yourself. That's more than enough."

"No I won't." He asserted turning back to his laptop. This laptop seems like a barrier between me and him. I want to throw it away right now. You piece of metal, let me talk to him peacefully or you will be dumped into the ground right away. Huh!!! Control Shreya control. Wait, why did he denied taking care of himself?

"Hey listen. Why won't you take care of yourself? Huh?" I asked grabbing his attention back. He sighed and turned towards me. "Uske liye aap hain na madam." I am here worried about him and he is flirting with me. Wow. Well you piece of metal, look he is working on you but his attention is towards me and I am his priority. You are nothing. God, when did I start behaving this childish? Shreya just shut up now.

"Accha or agar nahi rahi toh?" I said with a shrug but immediately regretted. When will this cycle of blabbering and regretting end? Don't know many times have I landed in problems due to this. And Myra, yes she is the main problem. I didn't use to vomit words as it is but her habits are being passed to me successfully. I looked at him and realized he didn't listen to me. That was good though. But wait, what will go wrong in one joke? Huh?

"Vedant" I called him. "hmm" "What if I will not be there to take care of you?" I said with a shrug. He instantly turned his face towards me and looked at me with darkened eyes. "Don't you dare to say it again. Not even for fun." He said looking directly into my eyes as if digging into my soul. I gulped at his statement and uttered "S-s-sorry I just said it." He closed his eyes and sighed. Don't know what happened to him all of a sudden. "Sorry I just meant don't say things like this. Please." He said softening his gaze.

God, who is he? Just a second ago, I gulped at his gaze and now I want to get drowned in his pearl eyes. His pearl brown eyes. Damn. But that was really terrifying okay. I didn't think that statement would affect him so much. God, Shreya control your blush. Your cheeks are again red.

"Shreya, what happened? Say something." He said demanding my attention. I came out of my thoughts and again looked at his charming face. "Ye-yeah okay" I said hiding my nervousness. "Did I scare you?" No man, you made me fall for you all over again.

"Yup a little bit." I said and made a pout faking a sad face.
"Sorry but your expressions are narrating a different story. Either you continue blushing or act sad. You can't do both." He said and got back to his work. Bhak yaar!!! Acting bhi nahi hoti mujhse!!! Kya hoga mera!!!
(Damn bro. I can't even pull up and act. What will happen of me?)

I smiled and kept staring at him. He noticed my stare and his lips curled into a smirk. "Are you here to gawk at me?" Day 374546826842 of another embarrassing moment. Act fool. Act fool. Act fool. You don't even need to act fool when you are one.

"I talked with you all this while and you are just pointing out my stare. I am here to talk to you, not gawking at you. But yeah, be busy in your work. I am going." I shook my head and turned to the other side to get up but he held my hand from behind and kept something on it.

I looked at it and could not act being angry further. Anger for Mr Arrogant is really difficult to survive. "This is for me?" I said excitedly with a grin as he handed me a set of oxidized earrings. "No that's for me." He replied sarcastically. "Oh nice!!! Come let me try it on you." I gave it back to him but he actually leaned towards me.

"What happened? Go ahead." He said raising his eyebrows. I pushed him slightly and got up hiding my blush. "Well where did you get these from?" I asked turning around and realized he was looking at me resting his head in his palm. He didn't reply and kept smiling. I snapped my fingers in front of his eyes and he started looking here and there. Did his system get retarded or something?

"I asked where you got these from." "From the market obviously." "Oh wow I thought these grew in the farms." He laughed at this and stood up. He picked his laptop and phone from the table and walked to me. "Actually when you were buying bangles, you were time and again looking at these. So, I just thought you liked them. That's why." He said running his fingers on his hair and did not make an eye contact. He was looking so shy to tell this and my heart melted looking at his face. How thoughtful he is!!! He bought these because I was looking at them? What in the fictional universe is going on here? jumping and dancing with joy in my mind

He was about to say something further when Myra came into the backyard.
"Hey Shreya you are here. Yaar I was finding you everywhere. Come, we have to get ready." She said taking deep breaths. Ditto copy of Maheer when he was finding Vedant yesterday.
"But function is in the evening, right? Why so much hurry?" I asked hitting her forehead and she hit me back. Hawww!!! Only I can hit her. Okay. That's cheating.

"I know idiot but we girls planned to" Myra saw Vedant and stopped. "Come I will tell you." She pulled me with her. I turned back and our eyes met. His asked me to stay and mine apologized for leaving. He smiled and blinked his eyes in allowance. Then I reciprocated the smile and left with Myra.

"Look, today is sangeet and day after tomorrow will be the wedding. So, tonight, after Sangeet, we are planning a bachelorette so we are going to the market. No more details. We do not have much time for now. I will tell everything else at night. Now get ready asap."
"Fine but who will drive? You are not gonna do it obviously and don't even think of me. It's been long and I don't want to risk someone else's car."

"Oye it's not only about car, our lives will be at stake too. Uski koi tension nahi hai?" She said while applying her sunscreen and then passed the bottle to me. "And don't worry, Maheer is driving."
(Aren't you worried about it a bit?)
"He agreed?" I said widening my eyes.
"Of course why would he dare to deny me?" She said and flipped her hair in pride.
"Yaa yaa obviously Ishq jo ho gaya hai unhe aapse" I said yawning. Man I need some sleep.
(Yeah yeah obviously. He has fallen in love with you after all.)

We returned from the market by 3pm and were in our room getting ready for the sangeet. I wore a teal lehenga. I didn't wear any jewelry except the earrings given by him. Myra wore a sea green lehenga while Anya a dark blue one. Shrida, the bride-to-be was ready in her dark green lehenga to shine the brightest. Today's venue was far from her house. So, we were all ready by 5pm to leave. Shrida's family had booked a bus for them to go there and Shrida asked us to join them. It was better because we were wearing such heavy dresses and it would have been a task to travel in a car. So, I, Myra and Anya went with her while the boys came by car. Well, it's good he didn't come in the bus. God the dream was too bad. I would never let him enter into a bus. Never ever.
